With some support from independent, enthusiastic film bloggers and word-of-mouth, Leaves Of Grass is beginning to gain some attention and generate interest for theatrical distribution. It's always wonderful to have grass-roots (pun intended) support for films such as Leaves Of Grass to not only showcase the work of emerging directors,writers, and actors, but it's also a welcome relief from the over-hyped and ridiculously expensive Hollywood blockbusters.
A new poster for Leaves Of Grass has recently been released and a US theatrical date for a limited run has been pencilled-in for 2 April 2010. In addition to the new poster, more images from the film have been released and Leaves Of Grass will be screening in the category of 'Spotlight Premieres' at the SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas.
SXSW (South By South West) Festival is a three-tiered event featuring three festivals in one. The Music, Film and Interactive Media/Technology Festivals during SXSW draw large and diverse crowds of music/film/tech-sav vy crowds, but also the necessary people who can secure distrbution for independent films.
Film schedule times are yet to be finalised, film cast and crews are yet to be confirmed, but the date for the SXSW Festival will definitely be from 12 - 21 March 2010.
Fingers crossed for Leaves Of Grass in gaining a distributor during the event, and a worldwide cinema release.
